She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline
Its been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didnt pay attention
She was going way to fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didnt even have time to cry
She was sooo scared
She threw her hands up in the air
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I cant do this all on my own
Im letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road Im on
Jesus take the wheel
It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said Im sorry for the way
Ive been living my life
I know Ive got to change
So from now on tonight
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I cant do this on my own
Im letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road Im on
Oh, Jesus take the wheel
Oh, Im letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road Im on
From this road Im on
Jesus take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me
Oh, why, oh

When I first heard this song I was wondering who sang it cuz I loved it. I lov
I loved the country feel that it had to it. Right away I connected
to the song and the intimacy that she (girl in the song)missed from Jesus.
When I heard it was Carrie….I said Hmmm…I voted for her! You go girl!
By the third time I heard it….I was not having a good week and this
song ministered to my heart and soul. It made throw my hands up in the
air and surrender my all to Jesus. I was way over due for an
experience with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I’m most definately getting her album. Thank you to who ever wrote
the lyrics to this song. And Thank you Carrie for singing the way
you do. Sounds like you have a connection with The Mighty One. Don’t
ever lose that connection. If you do, listen to the song,
“Jesus take the wheel”

Tuti in New Jersey

I thought this song was amazing, and to think that Carrie Underwood came back and sang this awesome Christian song on national TV (American Idol) which is wathched by millions is even better, especially when we live in a world where it is politiocally incorrect to pupblicly announcce your faith.

This song is my favorite song that is not on a christian album. All I ever listen to is christian music, but I knew Carrie Underwood’s songs would be decent so I talked my dad into letting me have the CD. I have chosen to do this song for a project in my English class. I have learned so much about Carrie through this project. She is an awesome person to have the courage to proclaim her faith on national TV. This is a great oppurtunity for her and I admire her for not being afraid of the world’s sin and doing such a great song.

This song is so cool. I am trying to listen to the whole song on the Internet but I can’t. I am only 12 years old and this songs means alot to me. I always think about it when I am sad cause it cheers me up. I hope Carrie Underwood makes lots more beautiful songs so they touch other peoples hearts too. And I really hope that JESUS can hear this song so he can save other peoples lives including Carrie Underwoods in her time of needs. There are alot of people that are going through tough times and Carrie Underwood inspired them to do better even if she does not know them. Also I think this song relates to the Hurricane Katrina victims!

when i first saw the mtv of Jesus take the wheel. I stop of what i did. and just listen to the song. i am in my depressing situation for this past months and it made me want to give up and blame Jesus for the sufferings that i made myself. when i heared that song I feel Gods presence in my heart telling me that i dont have to worry. The song reminded me that God is always there ready to take wheel ( The sorrow, hurts and pains in our life )and That Jesus is always ready to drive for us. We just have to trust and Lift up to him. Thanks Carrie for wonderfully singing that song. It really means a lot.

My friend and my non-religious cousin often asked me with this song.My sister uses to sing this song. When I dont know yet the lyrics of this song, I could only understnad the chorus. Hehe..It’s a great song! I first have heard this through Skecher’s advertisement. This is yes,a greta song esp to non-believers! This song assures us that God is always in-control and He knows right what we’re feeling especially in times of distress. He doesn’t leave us for God is an omniscience, omnipresent, omnipotent God!

‘Sleeping like a rock’ shouldn’t it mean sleeping so peacefully without any care in the world because mum is on the wheel?
That is what should happen, when Jesus is on the wheel. He removes all the cares of this world for total peace and is what the mother was wanting to experience, the experience of her baby, when she asked Jesus to take the wheel!
Thankyou Brett James, Hillary Lindsey and Gordie Sampson for great song lyrics, and allowing a great voice in Carrie to match it.
