Jack’s Mannequin is a side-project of frontman, pianist, and the songwriter of Orange County, CA based piano rock band, Something Corporate. The name of Jack’s Mannequin itself originated from Andrew’s song ‘Dear Jack’, which is written for his friend’s brother who is diagnosed by children leukemia. Andrew himself was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005, and he had to cancel his show for the first time ever.
In 2003, after recording his song ‘Locked Door’, Andrew realized that his song is way much different from his previous band Something Corporate. If he had to release the song, it would be on solo album rather than Something Corporate album. In summer 2004, Andrew and his band mates decided to take temporary break after exhausting tour. It became the right time for Andrew to release his songs for a side project.

Jack’s mannequin first album ‘Everything in Transit’ was released in August 23, 2005 and had reached the #34-billboard chart top. (more…)

The Beatles”. I think all the people are familiar with this name. Otherwise, they must be living under the ground or in different world. When we hear name, we’ll definitely remember to “Hey Jude”, “Let It Be”, “I Wanna Hold Your Hands” and lots of other inspirational songs that they have created. We all know how many people collect their albums, and how many musicians and groups were inspired by this four-personnel band. And this went to me too. I never used to like their songs. Not before one of my friends offered me a CD. And still, the first time I heard it I didn’t directly admire them. I took me two days before I said it to myself that I was falling in love with them. Starting from that, I begin to open my eyes to everything that has got relationships to “The Beatles”.

Actually I’ve really got no ideas sometimes when someone asks me about their history. But at least I know that The Beatles consists of four amazing people, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Star. Why I call them amazing, that’s because they are genius, and each has got their own characteristics. It is shown through the songs each member created. (more…)
